Let me do a me too on this one. The Fathoms are truly one of the greats. It
has been a while since I listened to their second CD, but I think I like
their first one slightly better. They are both excellent however. "Getaway
Car" is a favorite song of mine. A great band overall, and Frankie
Blandingo's guitar playing is superb.
I think the reason we don't hear much about them is that they seemed to have
broken up, or at least are on an extended hiatus. I thought someone had
reported that they had played a gig in the last year or two though. They
also show up on the NESMA site, but I don't think that means they are
active.
Art from MuSick periodically reports that their next CD "is just around the
corner", but it has never materialized, sadly.
Anyone remember their website? It was pretty slick.
