Dick Dale burned down the streets of Glendale last night. His ego was in full
swing and the crowd loved it. He held the large cheering crowd, easily a 1000
and possibly 2000 people for the full 1.5 hours. After 45 minutes of non-stop
intensity, he brought on Jimmy for about 10 songs of father and son duets. For
me, 3 songs with Jimmy woulda been enough but the family crowd really loved
seeing the 12 year old play and they ate it all up. Jimmy left and Dick was back
to the intensity, playing great trumpet and drums as well. It was great to see
Ron Eglit on a return visit to the bass. It's amazing how he can hang with the
obviously impulsive an unpredictable Dick. The drummer was fantastic but no one
I know.
