RE: [SurfGuitar101] Opinions needed - Danelectro Reel Echo

-=Brad Davis=- (tammibrad) - 11 Jul 2004 14:06:51

Cheaper side: Dan-Echo (I own) / Reel-Echo (I have heard good things about)
More Expensive: Line 6 Delay Modeler...excellent...(I have used, don't own,
'cause now I have the XT)
Big bux, but 'the real thing': Roland Space Echo units (solid state ones,
the real tape echo units sound great, but two much hassle).
Let us know what you land on.

Subject: [SurfGuitar101] Opinions needed - Danelectro Reel Echo
Hi folks,
It has been long since I posted, but I had some computer trouble and just
now caught up with the 300+ messages on this group alone.
Anyway, to the question - I need a delay effect. Trad sounding, not digital
sounding. I trust this group's opinions much more than the Harmony Central
reviews.
I am contemplating getting a Danelectro Reel Echo, but I wanna make sure
that if I shell out so much money for a pedal, it will be worth it.
So - if anyone used/uses it, please share your opinions.
Phil Tiki from the Cocktail Preachers told me he liked it a couple of years
ago, but apart from him I hadn't heard any opinion about it from anyone I
trust.
If you have other reccomendations, feel free to give them, but keeping in
mind that I'm not interested in something that sounds like a Boss digital
delay pedal.
Thanks a lot,
Ran
