I think Zero Gravity by Laika and The Cosmonauts is super neat - that
was the first surf CD I bought. 'Glorious Lethal Euphoria' by the
Mermen is a great CD - very underwater. There is only one release
from The Ghastly ones, and it's great Dick Dale style picking
thoughout, power surf. Someone suggested Slacktone (thats a band) and
i downloaded a few songs like Longboard Legato, Spark, Tidal Wave,
Outsider. Now Slacktone are probably my favourite surf band, after
Dick Dale. They got good melodies (which do not sound Japanese or
Arabian like many surf tunes, and I am happy about that), they are
very surfy (i.e. sounds like it's about surf and not ghosts or space
monsters or jack the ripper) and yet not beach-boys happy. Seems like
they take their surf serious.
Thats what I like. That and Dick Dale.
