Wow...someone is making these again? Rick Mills (Volcanos) has an
original one that he plays in his horror punk band The 3D-
Invisibles. He told me that he found it in a pawn shop in Detroit
in...crap... can't remember what year...late 70's/early 80's?? He
told me that a guy from Mosrite split off to start Hallmark guitars,
and made about 50-60 of these guitars and then folded. Looks like
someone has the name and is making new ones. Rick said that his
plays pretty well for a cheap guitar and it does sound unique.
I think Chris Flanagan, fellow Volcano, also has one. He brought it
as a backup guitar to the Chicago Exotica 2003 show last August.
Rick told me that Chris had a guy build one for him based upon
Rick's guitar, so it may not be related to the ones in the link.
Other than the body, they look very Mosrite'ish, with the zero fret,
trem, and logo on the headstock being similiar.
