Although the Farfisa compact is ok, it's a little cheesy sounding. I
think the Vox Conntinental is much better sounding and a better buy (
think 'House of the Rising Sun' or the first two Doors l.p.'s ). The
Conntinental has a very lush sound a killer vibrato, plus they seem a
little better constructed. The Farfisa is a bit creepier sounding
though and can be found a lot cheaper than the Vox. My organist uses
a dual manual Vox Conntinental II and sounds absolutely beautiful,
although we also have a Farfisa compact which is broken, so it
doesn't really get used. Bassically though, any 60's Italian made
organ should be good for surf type stuff. Viktor
