We are excited to announce the third season of Hot Nights, Cool Sounds Summer
Concert Series, a free concert series in Bennett Park (184th Street & Fort
Washington Avenue, New York, New York) organized and produced by Artists Unite
(www.artistsunite-ny.org).
Artists Unite is an organization of local artists, writers, dancers and
musicians dedicated to exposing to the community of Inwood/Washington Heights to
the wealth of talent around us and to expanding the cultural opportunities of
Upper Manhattan. In the last two years this concert series has been a tremendous
success. Because of this the series has been expanded to include two bands per
evening. This will allow us to hear and enjoy more of the wonderful musicians
that live in our neighborhood.
The will be held on three consecutive Tuesday nights in July. The jazz trio No
Cover and R&B singing sensation Yewande will open the series on July 13th; on
July 20th the instro-rock band The Howlin Thurstons and Brazilian percussionist
Annette Aguiler & Stringbeans will take the stage; while the country-bluegrass
tandem of The Dixie Bee Liners and The Karen Hudson River Band will close out
the series on July 27th.
All concerts will start at 7:00 P. M.
As in past years, all concerts are free to the public.
