I don't know Dana, I've heard some great tones coming out of some
pretty strange amps (and guitars). A friend of mine has a collection
of old Dano amps, Canadian Electric, Kent, and assorted suitcase amps
that sound fantastic with the Reverb Tank. I have a Canadian made
Garnet combo amp (used by the Guess Who), that has a spring reverb
that will get so wet, it's ridiculous. Bet that old set up would've
sounded pretty cool today.
NonSURF...I just heard the Jon Spenser Blues Explosions new album,
and he uses a no name guitar with plastic cased pickups (I think),
and a Kustom head running a Vox cabinet...the sound is intense.
