Re: another 399 Jazzmaster review

supertwangreverb - 30 Mar 2004 20:38:21

Phil,
The CIJS have fatter necks...atleast the ones I've played. Most of
the US AVs in my opinion have thinner necks. All of the early 60s
Jazzmasters I have played had beefier necks like the CIJs.

I'll feel a difference after playing the Japanese one more. They set
up the action purdy low with the 10's. I haven't been able to get
the strings so pop out of the bridge yet but I will be putting on a
buzz-stop anyway along with heavier strings. There isn't much buzz
right now but I want the better sustain provided by the buzz stop
and the assurance that the strings won't leave the saddles.
