You're right about the target audience but say If I'm trying to put
together a surf show with 3 surf bands, how well do you think 3
Ventures cover bands would go over? How many times in a night would an
audience like to hear "Walk, Don't Run". The majority of surf bands in
Chicago are basically Ventures cover bands. We almost go out of our way
to avoid doing Ventures covers. Don't get me wrong, I love The Ventures
but there are so many bands doing that. I'd rather be surprised to hear
a Satan's Pligrim's or Man or Astroman cover.
There is a surf scene in Chicago. More than just The Ventures and more
than just car shows. Email me and we could get you on the bill for an
upcoming Surf show.
I'm curious, why wouldn't the other band play "Journey To The Stars"
live?
