Bill,
I've got no experience in this matter, but in one of my Dan Erlewine (Guitar
Player Mag) books on guitar repair, he states that he prefers the 2 point
bridge to the vintage 6 screw bridge from a guitar setup perspective. He
advocates loosening the 4 middle screws to make a vintage bridge more like a
2 point modern bridge. He feels they are easier to setup, maintain, and have
less tuning and stability problems.
At least no one is putting their bridge in the freezer. I think thats going
a little off the deep end.
