I don't know about the 97s..but the new (Dunlop) ones do.
Not sure of freezer time. Wannes mentioned tonequest.com
There is a link to an interview they conducted in August 2001
with the late Cesar Diaz at the bottom of the page in which he mentions
the freezer trick.

Do the newer fuzz-faces (about '97 I think) have germanium
