I think two things can be said: learning any technique involves many,
many hours of practice. You can't crunch it all into two or three or
five marathon sessions. The idea of "no pain, no gain," probably
shouldn't be applied to learning a musical instrument!
When I said I've played Misirlou 6,000 times, that was probably not an
exaggeration. But I did that by practicing it almost every day as part
of my warm-up routine ? it's the song that helped me master tremelo
picking. I highly recommend it!
