Hi GD,
Hmmm, I'm not sure. Was it a stock strat? I was always under the
impression that the Jazzmaster was a bit more mellow to the bass side,
followed by the Strat and less bass comes from the Jag (IMHO)
Although, when a US stock strat is compared with a CIJ PU loaded
Jazzmaster, then the Strat has more bass. (again IMHO)
Also since the strat has more PU's and options on how to use those, it
could be more bassy then a Jazzmaster (CIJ or MIA)
I did adjust the pick up selection swith on our rythem guitarsists stock
MIM strat (Neck - bridge pu selection, like the Jazzmaster and Jaguar)
At this point the strat sounded differently then before, very nice a bit
fuller more surfy.

Subject: [SurfGuitar101] Strat Vs. Jazzmaster
Hi Everyone,
This may be old news, but new to me.
Doe's the strat have that much more bass than a jazzmaster?
I borrowed a friends strat and had to re-adjust my
tone settings on my amp, and the strat had much more bass.
Is this typical?
Thanks.
GD
