Hi Brain,
O.K., I dig in :-)
I been (trying to play) guitar since I was seventeen, so some thirteen
years ago. I stopped playing for about two years after the band I was in
at the time broke up. I also had played three years Bass in that band
(some Punk-rawk type music, nothing fancy, only ryhtem guitar) Three
years ago I started playing again with the bass player of my fomer band,
we started rehearsing with a newby drummer which went nowhere. After the
bass player switched to drums and the newby drummer to bass we got off.
Since we still had no vocalist, we started playing Man or Astro man
covers (thanks Brain for your fantastic MOAM tab site, it really got us
started) and slightly evolved to surf. The Surf thing worked, after our
first gig we were asked to play at several other parties and venues and
even got payed for them. We recruted a second guitarist and play in a
"four-piece" setting since. At the moment we are recording some material
for a demo at a studio, a very intersting expierience for us. (so far
it's been great, Surf bands are better cared for then rock bands, and
most people like Surf music and it's better suited for parties, IMHO)
O.K. I admit it, I really wanted a Jazzmaster and a Jaguar....and what
better music then Surf brings out the best in these guitars?
