Try a new speaker cable between the head and the guitar. Sounds like you
might have plugged in a guitar cable or something. Then plug the AC into a
different outlet, try that. If you have any pedals, get em out of there, and
see how it sounds, if it's fine, then add em in one at a time till you
figure out which one's killing you.
If the head works fine on another cab, its the '72 cab...probably something
with the jack.
