Thanks wannes for the compliments!
Regarding 50 Bucks, In short as possible.
If I remember correctly, we were walking around Nashville before
a show, joking around about a side project idea called, The
D.S.M.M (Dung Slingin' Monkey Men)
The premise was to dress in gorilla outfits, jump in the back of a
truck, ride to the gig throwing slightly melted Baby Ruth candy
bars at people, jump on stage, sling more candy bars, play 2-3
three note tribal 60's garage tunes (grunting the words of
course), then leave as fast and in the same way we came.
Midgets were to be used as hostages/roadies to make us look
bigger. We started talking about the cost of this venture, and
someone asked how much the midgets would cost. I think Rip,
in his calm matter-of-fact way, said, "Oh, about 50 bucks a
midget." We laughed for about 3 days on that one, and decided
to one day name a song after that quote. And there you have it!
I'll send this to Spanky for clarification.
