Yesterday I went to Buffalo's semi-annual Musician's Flea Market. I
saw a lot of junk but a few guitars caught my eye. There was a
Univox Mosrite copy in black, no price. A few of those new Italian
jobs that have vinyl covering and big plastic. They look like a
fancy cross between a low line Hagstrom and a high end Supro. If I
recall there were priced under $300 and they disappeared quickly.
There was a DiPinto Galaxy in red for $350. I wish I had time to
check it out. But the guitar that's bugging me is a Squire
Jazzmaster in awful big silver sparkle. Black pickguard, two
humbucking pickups and a huge headstock. What bummed me out was it
had a Strat style vibrato. I thought it might be a good guitar to
modify. What I want is a "Mel Waldorf" Jazzmaster w/3 P90s. I can
have this axe for $200. But my question is does it sound anything
like a Jazzmaster? I could check it out because it was too noisy.
Anybody have any experience with a Squire Jazzmaster?
Thanks
