I don't know how often Chris (Big Ray) reads the list
mail, but he lives in Atlanta about an hour north of
me. I'm actually on the guest list to see Big Ray and
The Futuras open for The Cindy Wilson band at Eddie's
Attic in Decatur this Thursday. The last time I asked
him about it (I'll ask him again when I see him if he
doesn't respond here) he had a couple of guys with him
filling in on the rythm section for Big Ray and he was
continuing to do gigs with Cindy Wilson band. His
original bass player and drummer still live in
Massachusets and that's who went with him on their
last Eurpean tour. So the band is still kicking in a
couple of different forms as far as I know. I'll post
a show review here after Thursday because I'm totally
looking forward to seeing them in action. I have two
albums, Desolation Planet and Airwaves, both of which
I enjoy immensely, and Airwaves is probably one of the
five best examples of live showmanship I've ever
heard.
