I also agree with the "simple and to the point" description of what surf music
should be. It's amazing how Dave Wronski's music can sound so simple and yet has
so much more going on in terms of harmony and physical technique. I love those
harmonics he gets in that "Bells of St. Kahuna". I'm sure he got the idear from
Chet Atkins equally impressive harmonics in "The Bells of St. Mary's". It's
funny that at the big surf revivals, it is the first wave surf bands who partake
in the most "guitar wanking". As much as I don't care for it, they do get great
applause for it.
