Re: [SurfGuitar101] Re: DD and surf music pop up in the unlikeliest places....

I make Guild acoustics and arch-top electrics, and these guitars easily exceed
the Guild product of the last twenty years, or so. The satin finish is only on
the low end stuff. All guitars are painted with laquer, not synthetic paint.
Even the satins. The arch tops have P-90s, DeArmonds{like the early Gretch
guitars}, or humbuckers.
Fender also now owns Gretch and SWR. Ther is also another big name on the way, i
think.

And in an ironic twist of fate, Fender now owns Jackson/Charvel.... I've
heard mixed feelings about the Guild brand since Fender's aquisition. Since
humbuckers and satin necks do about as much for me as moldy bread and
noserings, I cant imagine Fender doing them much harm. On a side note, I did
play an excellent Hartfield PRS ripoff one time that didnt suck. (balance,
playability, craftsmanship wise..)
