It didn't really have anything to do with tradition. Joe (sax), Kevin
(bass), and I (guitar) all started learning to play music at the same
time. Joe just wanted to learn sax. Since the 3 of us were best
friends, the band was started around our 3 instruments.
Good thing Joe wasn't going for the accordian.
