Hi Mike,
Can you give me some directions in getting the Marschall into a good
"surf drive gear"?
I tried a Reissue reverb tank on a pre JCM 800 and I couldn't get it
right.I think the main problem is that there is not a clean channel,
just a high gain and a low gain. The high gain uses three pre-amp tubes
and the low gain only one. I switched them from 12AX7 to 12AT7 to get
lesser high gain, but it still seams to stay very tight in sound. The
tank just screemed.
Anyway ony advice would be most welcome.
Also would be any directions on how to get the most from a Holy Grail
onto a Marschall Valvestate 8080.
It is playd on with a rewired (bridge/neck) Mex Strat for rythem.
Thanks,
Jerry

I've tried this just the other night at a show (using the other
band's Marshall with my Fender tank), and the 'verbs kinda seemed to
cancell each other out. When I zeroed the Marshall reverb, all was
well.
It took some time, but i was able to get a pretty good surf tone from
the Marshall!
