SD-1 "Vintage" Pups for Jaguar...opinions?

Gavin Ehringer (windanseabeachboy) - 26 Mar 2003 09:15:35

I am bidding on some Seymour Duncan SD-1 Vintage pickups for Jaguar on
EBay, and wanted to know: am I stupid? Are these any good? After
placing my bids, I went and looked at some reviews on Harmony Central,
and both reviewers slammed these pickups as not sounding at all
"vintage" (whatever that means) and not sounding like original Jag pups.
Anybody tried these? And what is your opinion of them? Are the other
SD pups for Jag, either the hot of the quarter pounders, better for
the surf sound.
P.S. I intend to put these on a Japanese reissue.

P.P.S. - Brian, hope you come out of your rut. But sometimes, rutting
can be fine!
