My (non-surf) band has a MySpace page.
MySpace seems to be a good place to make "Friends" with your local
scary "I really dig your band" guys and hot (and not so hot) chicks
from all over the world who have web pages where they get naked for
money. I've also been contacted by teenage band managers who have
their bands passing through my town on tour and need a place to sleep.
My daughter thinks it is cool though, it means we are almost as famous
as Fall Out Boy to her & her friends. I guess they don't realize you
can just put the band page yourself... ;-)
