Two questions

Vincent Frank (mournblade1066) - 29 Mar 2006 13:31:02

Hey all! Two questions:
1. Anyone here know about The Woodies? Is there a cd
available? I was reading Phil Dirt's review of their demo, and
all I can say is, I've gotta hear this for myself!
2. I put two demos of mine in the files section under The Bookhouse Boys
folder. I received only three or four responses. Has nobody else listened
to them? I need feedback--good or bad--so I know whether to continue
my atrocity against fine instrumental music, or quit and let my wife stop
having headaches and night terrors.
Seriously, though, take a listen if you get a chance, and let me know what
you think. Everything was recorded directly to my computer (i.e., no amplifiers
or speakers used). I use a Fender Squire Strat, an Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler
(which
I use primarily for sequencing, drums, and effects processing), an Ensoniq FIZMO
synthesizer, a DigiTech DigiVerb reverb pedal (for that simulated spring
effect),
and PowerTracks (by PG Music), which is a software which turns my computer into
a 48+ track digital recorder, sequencer, effects processer, etc., all for $50.
Talk about a budget setup! (Well, the ASR-10 was a professional powerhouse
in its day, but I've owned it for nearly 12 years now, so it's long since paid
for. . . .)
Later!

p.s. Coincidentally, the song, "The Bookhouse Boys," by Angelo Badalamenti,
just popped
up on my Windows media player as I was writing this. (It's a moody instrumental
from the
Twin Peaks soundtrack.)
