Been using these med. gauge Alembic strings even
before adding an Alembic to the arsenal:
Alembic Steel Roundwound 4-String, .045 - .105,
CX-3-45L

There is an elliptical final wrap so it's not noisy
(squeak...squeeak) as you fret. Used on Rick 4003,
J-Bass, Alembic...great strings for me. Though what
really works for you (and/or your bassist) is
something that you'll have to find out for yourself.
