Hey Bernie,
I prefer 13's on my Fenders for surf but for the Mosrite, stick with the 10's.
Its what the Ventures used to create the classic Mosrite sound and you'll have
to mess with vibrato springs if you even go to 11's. In what ways is the new
Fillmore an improvement over your earlier Fillmore?

I just received a '65 Fillmore Mosrite from Ed Roman. Not counting
the case or shipping, it cost me $2188 and is superior to the
Fillmore MkI I purchased from him last year for $1395.
j-guitar.com in Japan is selling the same guitar for 189,000 Yen
($1,622.87 USD), as is mcci.or.jp. guitarman.fr is selling them for
3300 Euros (4,029.38 USD). Based on the quality of the guitar, I
believe I paid a fair price.
Now a question to you Mosrite owners here: my guitar came with a 10-
46 string set. Is this the best gauge for the MkI model? Would you
advise a lighter gauge? What brands of strings would you recommend
for this guitar?
