Anyone got that meshugga Beach Party rerelease?
okay, I played it yesterday while driving to work, for the first time
in quite a while ( I usually commute by train and to be honest, and
if I drive longer stretches. I tend to take cd's with me that I don't
play often)
anyway, it suddenly struck me why I hadn't listened to it that often.
the drums, esp. the hihat, on the first track, annoys me - it seems
to be just behind the beat, and sounds ... well, hesitant. actually,
it sounds as if it was the last drumtrack played after a full day of
recording, and the drummer was just very very tired, with cramped
muscles.
Strangly enough, I don't hear this on the other tracks, the guys
obviously a very good drummer, but on the first track, he does. It's
a great album and I do like it and recoomend anyone to get it, it
just surprised me that they put this track first on the cd, I'd have
put it somewhere in the middle.
anyone else notice this, or is my hearing f'ed up?
