I have some Untamed Youth on some comps, but I finally (thanks to Jeff
BTD) have a CD of theirs: "Invitation to Planet Mace". There are lots
of styles going on here, from the frat/party rock odes to Pabst Blue
Ribbon, hitting mailboxes with baseball bats, and chicks with beer
bellies, to extremely well done hot rod vocal surf (and this is coming
from a guy who generally doesn't like that stuff), to full on powerful
surf instros (F.U.J.I.M.O. and Ghost Wave). Tasty farfisa organ here
and there, along with some sax. Wow, I am really impressed! I was
curious if there was another CD of theirs that featured more of the
instro-surf stuff, or does each record have a crazy spectrum of styles
on it? Highly recommended. Great party material.
Ghost Wave is just amazing...worth the price of admission alone.
