Hey there Katcher!
I just signed up to the SG101 and read your entry,
GOSH! Thanks for the support! WE kinda thought we were a bit on the
sloppy side last night, but HEY, that's Rawk N Roll for ya!
It was great fun having The Surge in the crowd, it's a good feeling
when at least a FEW people know what the hell your suppose too be
doing!
Can't wait to see the photos!
We may start playing Holly & Dolly's more, the twins seem to really
like us!(It's GREAT when mermaids like a surf band!)

> Hi Gang! Katcher here, our group The Surge! had the great honor
of performing for this year's Surf Expo 2006, at the Orlando Florida
Convention Center on Friday night January 13......It was a great
experience and a great crowd, we were really lucky to be able to
perform for so many real surfers and board sports enthusiasts. We
will be posting some pix as soon as I am able to get the software
loaded for my new camera and figure it all out. We were also really
lucky that fellow 101er, momsurfing, (Carol Busbey) made the treck
to Orlando to from Cape Hatteras NC to join in on the fun. Carol is
a great person and a real hoot to hang out with. She personally
escorted this surf dummy around the show explaining the finer points
of the sport and its related hardware......She was also willing to
spend some time taking pictures....We owe her big!!!!!! Thanks
Carol!!!

cool, local guitar shops.....after the usual big box stores, we
stumbled on The Guitar Den.....guys, this place has the biggest
inventory of old cool suff that I have ever seen......now you all
know, Eddie here is no spring chicken and I HAVE been in some neat
stores......but the Guitar Den takes the cake........I haven't seen
that much cool stuff since the late 60's Tons of Fender, Kustom Vox
(the real Voxes) Silvertones and the list goes on and
on........While standing near the front counter I overheard a guy
talking about Jazzmasters and I introduced myself, only to find out
that he was Louis of The Novarays!!!! if all this wasn't cool
enough, The Novarays were playing a show nearby on Saturday night,
so we headed off after dinner to Holly and Dolly's bar (real name,
no kidding) for some great surf and instro.....

> Boy, they were on fire!!!! Louis is a former guitarist for
party band deluxe, The Woggles and you can just feel his excitement
and VERY entergetic presentation.....All the Novarays are great
players and they sounded really big.....Both guitarists played
vintage Deluxe Reverbs with Louis on an AVRI Jazzmaster and the
rhythm guitarist playing a Master Built Custom Strat. They had a
great complimentary sound that blended well with the bass player's
Fender Precision Bass. The drummer was kicking butt and the whole
band had a very powerfull sound......The set was a great mix of cool
covers and neat originals that ran for over an hour. They even did
a completely reworked cover of an Electric Light Orchestra number.
The Novarays are a real asset to the surf music scene. Great band,
great evening, cool little bar (owned by a pair of twin, former
Weeki Watchi Springs mermaids). I invited the guys to get involved
with SurfGuitar101. If you can catch one of their
