I'd agree with you, but unfortunately, The Tractor has a
history of cancelling shows, unannounced, if they don't
get massive ticket sales well before the scheduled event.
Sure they refund your geld, but what's the use of paying
ahead and setting that date on your own schedule if they
are just gonna cancel? Well, at least the shows that I
wanted to see, anyway. (Los Straightjackets, Laika and
the Cosmonauts, Jr. Brown, Jack Johnson(!), the list goes
on.....)
There's gotta be a place around here that will take the
bait and give a non-blues/non-folk-rock show a chance,
or at least advertise in a better manner than just one's
website and possibly the Stranger. Hell, even posters
at the Trading Musician would be a help.... at least I
go there other two week or so. <g>
