Re: Phil's trip into obscurity land.... (is still Obscure cd's or just bands)

unlunf - 02 Nov 2005 13:11:22

Awww, come on, Phil, have a heart, willya? I was just about
to pay off the mortgage, and maybe do a little traveling,
and what do you do to an old man? That's right, you blow
his dreams all to hell and gone with this new madcap desire
to seek out and listen to more groups than I've *ever* heard
of before. <lol>
And I -think- this has something to do with why the frau is
not speaking to me at the moment. Any advice on that point?
j/k! <g>
~!~!~!~
Wooohooo, I just found a couple more in my collection that
Phil didn't list:
Southern Culture on the Skids. Great sounds when they decide
to do it right (neo-surf instro's), but they're much more into
vocals, some cover, some original. Sadly mistaken waste of
talent, in my book. (Not sure if they could be called
influential, though.)
And Simon Chardiet, outta NYC. Ride the Wild Surf is all
neo-surf instro, check out the tune Gowanus for a decidely
non-Strat surf sound!
