RE: [SurfGuitar101] Re: Surf Literature

Don't forget Stephen McParland's many books on the subject of surf music:
I strongly recommend:
"Beach, Street & Strip"
"Sound Waves & Traction"
"Surf Beat -- The Dick Dale Story" (the most comprehesive overview of
Dale's career that's been written)
Besides these, Stephen has written several specifically focused books on
The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean for die-hard fans. Anybody interested in the
history of surf music should have at least one of McParland's books on the
bookshelf. His contributions to the history of the music are immense.
If you want to keep up on current surf music CDs and reissues, check out
the fanzines "Pipeline" and "New Gandy Dancer." And, if you're a major
Ventures' fan, there's "The Ventures Resurgence" fanzine.
The truth is out there....
