Didn't the "2000 lb. Bee" single preceed the Surfing Album?

Really??? You think so? I always thought that was a pretty weak
release for the Ventures - and that, despite the title, it isn't
really a surf album. No reverb, and I don't think they really
understood what surf music was about at that point. I don't think
they really got it until the WDR, Vol. 2 album, a year (and more
than several albums) later.
