I know your reply was to Matt, but it made me think of something.
The Torquays O.C. Trad to a T surf band.
Started out as basically a cover band. They do alot of public
Park/car show/farmers market type of gigs.
Then they started to write alot of originals, which are exceptional
modern trad surf songs.When they play(1 set) with other surf bands,
they'll do mostly originals. But if they play by themslves( 2 or 3
sets) they'll do a mix of Covers and Orignals.
