I'd be leary of buying a Squire sight-unseen, but if you can play it, you be the
judge. The few
I have had my hands on were like carrot peelers - undressed fret wires that tore
into my
hands. Not uncommon in Colorado, where the dry weather can shrink a guitar neck
by a mm
or so, but a definite sign of poor quality.
That said, there are some Squire owners who are quite happy with them,
regardless of origin.
