Hi Gavin,
I know you're in So Cal so I highly recommend Rich Lovato. He is Fender Warranty
Certified in Burbank. (818) 842-2771. Same day service.

Subject: [SurfGuitar101] Help! Fender Amp repair advice.
Today, I was playing my mighty Fender Twin Reverb reissue when I noticed the
volume had
dropped to practice amp levels. I then smelled something like burning plastic.
I unplugged
everything - now, I am fearful of plugging it back in. The tubes all seem fine
- it seems
something in the incomprehensible area of those small plastic things attached
to the
circuit board.
Usually, the local guitar shop sends warranty repairs to a local amp
fixer-upper, but I don't
trust him. He's screwed up several past amps of mine, or sent them back as not
worth
repairing. So, I am not sure what to do.
Does anyone have experience with sending a Fender amp back to Fender for
warranty
repair? How is this done? I assume it usually doesn't involve sending the amp
to California!
Any advice would be appreciated.
Gavin
