Ivan:
Dick's "Tiger's Loose" period/revival (circa 1980-1985) was
a weird time for him. Like you wrote...his instrumental
selections are awesomely powerful...almost atom bomb
like...
and conversely, his vocal selections are incredibly super
lame...with all the cool punk and retro tunes floating
around at that time, old DD chose the lamest of the lame to
sing!
The VHS I have is definately "bootleg"...I don't even know
who shot it...
but it fits the mold...his instrumentals are scorching
hot...super high DD energy...
maybe I will get the opportunity to convert it to DV and
then I can make an "instrumental only" version. also I can
tweak the video and audio quality a bit in order to produce
an improved higher-quality "second generation" digital
master of sorts...
If I am able to digitize soon, I will get the files out to
whoever ends up hosting the DD video internet archive.
If anyone out there wants to tackle the VHS>DV>AVI
conversion, let me know...as long as you send me my VHS
back, I'll gladly trust my tape to a fellow SG101 DD-phile!
