Just got in From the Pitcher House show with Pollo Del Mar, Insect
Surfers, and the Re-united Halibuts.
All 3 bands were in top form, ripping it up in many ways.
The Crowd was pretty big, not 225 capacity, but at least 150 to 175.
About 20 of them were doing the assorted dances that one normally sees
at a Halibuts show.
Many old time Halibuts Fans from the 80's and early 90's were there
for the show( i.e. they don't go to other surf bands shows).
It was almost like watching a family or class re-union of just the
fans.
One quick note about Halibuts, Pete and Dave Sherman switched
guitar and Bass, and Dave played a couple of the songs he does in the
Hillbilly Soul Surfers. They did a mix of 80's and 90's originals,
standard covers for them (i.e. Malibu Run, Good Bad and the Ugly,
Exodus, etc.) and a few new songs.
They are Playing at the Huntington Pier Today around 3 pm I believe.
I urge anyone within' resonable distance to try to check them out.
This is How a truelly professional Burf band should, and does sound.
They are also selling the remastered, with Bonus tracks, of the
Live at Toes album, on CD.
