The old Mosrites and Japanese copies are 24 3/4th inch scale, I'm purdy sure
(but too lazy to pull 'em out to check). I have both set neck and bolt on neck
Mosrites (copies and original). There is no significant difference in sound on
any of the Mosrites. There may be a hair more sustain from the set neck. If
sound is your primary concern, then the main thing you need to be picky about is
the pick-ups.

This post has gotten big, unfortunatly my internet is down at home
so I'm stuck to checking in every so often at work.
I agree with you Marty. Some of these copies look really good, but I
know with my own personal experinces everytime I've wanted a certain
guitar and have gone after the copy it either leaves me upgrading
the guitar to the point where it costs as much or more than the
original guitar or I sell it for a loss months later and end up
buying the real deal.
I like the look of the Eastwood High Flyer but...do the pickups
sound like the orignal Mosrites? Secondly, isn't the High Flyer a
24inch scale neck? I like that scale on the Jaguar but I don't
think that was the orignal scale on the full scale Ventures models,
and they have a set neck? Its to my understanding that the bound
bodied sidejack Mosrites that the Ventures had on earlier were
infact setneck guitars. The only reason I'd be so picky is because
I like the sound of the guitars I hear on the mid 60s Ventures
albums, and the Ghastly Ones.

will satisfy you Mosrite jones for a month or so, but eventually
you'll still want something closer to an original Mosrite. I think
the most satisfactory fix with least cost is the "Excellent". It's
1100-1300 clams but it did the trick for me.
