Using D'Addario Flats, maybe 11/52? If so, I have the same problem with some of
the sets that I've put on my Jazzmasters. After using normally wound strings
with plain 3rds the wound flat third will always seem somewhat anemic...I've
actually removed the pickups and physically (and VERY carefully) pushed the
third string magnet up slightly to compenstate for this. However you can short
the pick up out if you're not careful and or lucky.....I've not trashed a pickup
yet but that doesn't mean it can't happen. NEVER try and move pole piece 1 or
6. Surf on Dudes, Edddie Katcher, Atlanta
