Less cool venues? Any venue having surf music is a cool venue! Most of the bars
have some kinda beer banners. The Hunington Beach pier and parking lot also has
banners promoting their summer concert series.

Nice pics, Brian! Looks like the bands put on good shows. However, what
I often find disturbing when seeing recently taken pics from U.S.
venues is the ugly advertisment banners located behind the bands which
IMO really distracts the visual experience of a live show. Can't
remember these from when I played in California with the Daytonas in
the mid 90's. Is this a fairly new phenomenon or is it only the less
cool venues sporting this? (I wonder what would happen if the bands
demanded to have the banners removed or hang up their own cool looking
bandlogo backdrop prior to their set?).
