changed the spelling of their name to the Bel-Aires, a lineup that
issued a single (Baggies c/w Charlie Chan).

Double-Huh? The way Paul Johnson told the story on the Belairs
compilation LP, it was his argument with Eddie Bertrand over Bertrand's
use of the new Fender Reverb unit, (PJ thought that for Surf Music, DRY
was better!) that led to Bertrand leaving the Bel Airs and forming
Eddie and The Showmen.
