(Sorry bout the last post hit the wrong button)
My suggestion wasn't to buy the Bassman 100 as a Bassman (which
indeed is one of the most wonderful amps ever built- I envy you dp)-
but since it is a 4 x 6L6 amp take out the overbuilt feed back
circuits and get it closer to an earlier Showman.
As far as the transformer is concerned, Vibroworld shows the
transformer replacement part for a Bassman 100 as Fender part
#125P34A - same as for Fender Twin Reverb, Showman, Dual Showman,
Quad Reverb, and Bassman 100.
Anyway it was just a thought because down here in San Diego no one
seems to want to let go of a Bassman or bandmaster head for less
than $500 or $600 in decent shape, don't see much variation on ebay
either. But maybe i'm wrong.
BTW has anybody ever used the Quad Reverb? There's a shop down here
that's got one.
