Re: [SurfGuitar101] Miserlou lives yet again("Pump It" by The Black Eyed Peas)

Why doesn't everyone who complains about hip-hop performers not
writing their own music complain about rock bands that do nothing but
covers instead of write their own music?
Hip-Hop is just another form of music. It is like an artist who does
collages rather than oil paintings or sculptures. The original
material isn't necessarily their own but what they create by cutting
it up & rearranging it is no less art than an oil painting or
sculpture. Is the cover of The Beatles Revolver LP art? I think so...
It does take skill to create Hip-Hop music. The people saying it isn't
music and it takes no skill sound like all the "Squares" complaining
about Rock & Roll in the 1950's to me.
Just my two cents....
