Hi Jerry,
I've got my Jag strung with 12's (flatwounds), and I love them. The Jag has
a shorter scale than a JM so maybe 11's would be comparable. The flatwounds
seem to last a long time, they nail that vintage sound, and no finger
squeaks. Also, they seem to have more tension than roundwounds, which means
they flop around less and thus I could lower my action quite a bit without
fret buzz setting in.
