The Mustang Bridge does wonders for a Jazzmaster (IMHO), however, there is
a much better solution than electrical tape to take up some of the slop where
you place it in the guitar. Pick up some shrink tubing that is used to
insulate electrical wire (available at any home improvement center). Cut it
to fit the posts of the bridge, slide it on, and then warm it with a match or
lighter. It will shrink from the heat and make a nice snug fit on the posts.
This will take out a lot of the sloppiness when the bridge is placed in the
guitar. A much neater solution than tape! I have done this on two Jazzmasters
and it works great.
