Re: [SurfGuitar101] Re: DD Q & A, shit that went down on Sat at Jim Pash benefit

I've seen Dick Dale play live several times. I've seen Slacktone play live
several times. Last Saturday, I saw Dick Dale and Slacktone play live on the
same stage. I saw Dick put his tail between his legs................
Have a nice day.

style that Slacktone plays? To be honest, I've never heard a full song of
their's, only the sound bytes on their site, and it sounds awesome, but if they
were around in the late 50's and early 60's, do you think that they would have
been playing stuff like their version of Miserlou without Dick's influence?
a headliner needs to hear before going on is the opening act playing one of the
headliners songs, whether it's a better version or not. I checked out
Slacktone's Miserlou video on their site and apart from the open-string stuff
intro, IMHO it's pretty much Dick's version, not exactly, but close enough. Even
the glissandos seem to be in the same spots as Dick's version.
think he's allowed to have an ego and attitude. Anyway, that's my take on it. I
don't personally know Dick or Dave so I can only speculate.
