Dick didn't come to any of the LA or San Diego shows for the surf
coasters. That I know of he doesn't listen to or go see any bands
play. Usually he hides in his back stage room or outside in the RV
while the other bands play. Then he comes in after all his stuff is
ready and plays. I was really suprised to see him come in halfway
thru Slacktones set. He didn't really seem to notice or look at
them. Everybody(lots of older people) were running over to
hug/shake his hand/and say hi to him. So he was pretty tied up in
that to watch. But after a few minutes he went back to the back of
the room with his wife, Jimmy and a bunch of Jimmys friends, and sat
down at a table. When we talked Slacktone into doing Miserlou, I
had to see Dicks reaction. So I non chalauntly (sp?) went walking
towards the back of the room. And Noticed that he wasn't there any
more. He had to have ran out the back door when they started it.
I was near the stage, and he didn't walk passed to go to the restroom.
I'd love to ask him face to face about. But I'll just let him be #1
in his own mind.
